Product introduction

  • It is used in the production of rubber, plastics, chemical raw materials, plastic polyolefin, PVC, PP, NBS, etc., polymer blending, mixing of pigments, color masterbatch, stabilizer, stabilizer, color matching, mixing of raw rubber and compounding agent, or powder hot smelting and particle tabletting.
  • Its main function is to make the products meet the quality and color required by customers. In order to meet the customer's requirements, the results of the inspection and their ratio are used in the production line, and this machine is also a device that mixes the raw materials and ingredients for testing evenly.

Main structure and components:
1.Roller: Core component. It is usually two hollow cylindrical cast steel rollers placed parallel and with hard and 2.smooth surfaces. Steam or cooling water can be introduced inside to regulate the temperature.

3.Front roller: The equipment faced by the operator, usually with a relatively slow rotational speed.

4.Rear roller: Close to the drive side, usually rotates at a relatively high speed. The speed ratio of the front and rear rollers is the key to generating shear force.

5.Frame and bearings: Used to support the rollers and withstand huge transverse pressure.

6.Distance adjustment device: It is used to adjust the gap (roller distance) between two rollers to control the thickness and shear strength of the rubber compound.

7.Emergency braking device (safety bar) : A crucial safety device. In case of an emergency, the operator can strike the safety rod with any part of their body, and the machine will stop running immediately.

8.Reducer and motor: Provide power to drive the roller to rotate.

9.Temperature control system: It controls the roller temperature by supplying steam, hot water or cooling water to the inner cavity of the roller.

Working principle
The working principle of the open mill is based on the following mechanical effects:

1.Extrusion effect: When the rubber compound passes through the narrow gap between two relatively rotating rollers, it is subjected to intense extrusion and stretching.

2.Shearing effect: Due to the speed ratio between the two rollers, the rubber compound will be subjected to intense shearing deformation and friction when passing through the roller gap. This is the main mechanism for achieving rubber plasticizing, dispersing fillers and additives.

3.Tearing effect: Under the action of shearing, the macromolecular chains of rubber are broken, the molecular weight decreases, and thus the plasticity (plasticizing) increases.

4.Oxidative cracking: As the rubber compound is exposed to the air in thin sheet form, the contact area with oxygen is increased, promoting the oxidative cracking process, which is also conducive to plasticizing.

5.The rubber compound will form a constantly rotating accumulation (or "rubber bag") on the rollers and coat one of the rollers (usually the front roller with a higher temperature). This process is called roller coating and is a sign of normal operation.
