Scope of application:

Mainly applicable to solid insulation materials such as plastics, films, resins, mica, ceramics, silicone, glass, insulation paints, etc., for measuring breakdown strength and withstand time at power frequency (48-62Hz) or corresponding DC voltage in air or liquid media. Suitable for continuous and uniform voltage boosting or step-by-step voltage boosting, apply AC/DC voltage to the sample until breakdown, measure the breakdown voltage value, and calculate the breakdown strength of the sample; Using a rapid voltage boost method, raise the voltage to the specified value and maintain it for a certain period of time until the sample does not break down. Set the specified value at this time as the withstand voltage value of the sample.

Usage:

Take out the discharge rod, straighten the telescopic rod, insert the other end of the grounding clip into the metal probe hole of the discharge rod, and then clamp the grounding clip onto the instrument grounding terminal A or B. Hold the insulated handle as far away from the instrument housing as possible, stand up, bend forward slightly, open the glass door of the test box, and use the metal probe to touch the output voltage equalizing ball of the high-voltage transformer, the electrode on the sample, and the high-voltage end of the capacitor one by one. (If necessary, after the discharge is completed, use a multimeter in AC voltage mode (AC20V) to test that the voltage between the electrode and the human body is less than 36V, indicating that the residual voltage has been completely discharged.)
Attention: Before taking out the sample after each experiment, it is necessary to fully discharge it in advance. During discharge, the contact residence time at each discharge point should exceed 2 seconds.

1. The equipment needs to be equipped with a separate protective grounding wire. Grounding protection is mainly used to reduce the strong electromagnetic interference caused by the breakdown of the sample to the surrounding area. It can also prevent the computer from losing control.

3. Grounding requirements: Separate grounding is required, and the grounding should comply with national standards. The metal rod should be buried at least 1.5 meters deep underground.
4. The circuit of the experimental equipment is equipped with multiple protection measures, mainly including overcurrent protection, voltage loss protection, leakage protection, short circuit protection, DC test discharge alarm, etc.
